Bankruptcy Practitioners

Bankruptcy is a legal status that lasts from one year upwards (dependant upon the banrupts circumtances). Bankruptcy is used to clear debts that the bankupt can no longer pay.  When made bankrupt, all non-essential assets (property and possessions) and excess income are used to pay off the creditors. At the end of the bankruptcy period, most debts are 'discharged' (cancelled).

Bankruptcy consultants / bankruptcy practitioners should consult with you on your personal circumstances - analysing your current financial position and ensuring that Bankruptcy is the best suited solution to your individual needs.

There are alternative solutions for dealing with debt. If you are considering bankruptcy you should take advice from your local Citizens Advice Bureau (or similar organisation) or an insolvency practitioner.
