Cambridge Building Society has been providing financial advise since 1850, playing a major role in the development of local home ownership and savings.

Cambridge Building Society generally prefers to provide savings account outside of it's geographical branch network, but does offer mortgage facilities throughout East Anglia.

The Cambridge Building Society offers a traditional service where branches are close to the local community. They therefore continue to invest in their branch network; both in terms of providing modern and efficient systems as well as opening hours to suit their members needs.

Their continued commitment to a strong local network of branches appears to set them apart from their localised competitors. They currently have more full service branches in and around the Cambridge area than any other building society or former building society.

The Cambridge Building Society not only offers offer low cost mortgage deals to new customers but equally to their existing borrowers. As of 2006 the Standard Variable Rate for existing borrowers was one of the lowest in the country.

2006 : For the third year running the Cambridge Building Society were voted best regional lender over 2 and 5 years by What Mortgage Magazine, and were also a finalist (third place) in the 10 year award.

The Cambridge Building Society Community

With 23 branches in and around the Cambridge area they have become part of the local community. A responsibility they take very seriously. In 2006 The Cambridge Building Society donated 2,520 hours of their own time to help the Society support 268 local charities and fundraising groups.
